State Rep. Mike Harris was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in May 2022. He represents the 52nd District, which encompasses part of Oakland County- the cities of Lake Angelus and Clarkston, Independence Township, and portions of Springfield and Waterford townships.
Committees
Rep. Harris serves as the Republican vice chair on the House Insurance and Financial Service Committee. He also serves as a member of the Ethics and Oversight Committee and Criminal Justice Committee.
Rep. Harris also serves as the House Republican whip.
Education
Rep. Harris attended Mott Community College where he majored in criminal justice. He then attended the police academy at Delta College.
Professional
Before taking office, Rep. Harris served in law enforcement for 26 years, including 25 years with the Waterford Township Police Department.
Public Office and Affiliations
Rep. Harris served as the local union president for the Patrol Officer's Association and then also the Command Officers Association. He also served on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association of Police and the Waterford Coalition for Youth. He is a member of the

Rep. Harris has been married to his wife Jennifer for 9 years and they live in Waterford. They have 6 children. During his free time, he likes to travel, go boating on Lake Oakland, golf, and participate in shooting sports. |
