ABOUT THE REPRESENTATIVE
District
Rep. Joseph Fox was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022. He represents the 101st District, which includes all of Newaygo, and parts of Oceana, Lake, Mason and Wexford counties.
Committees
Rep. Fox serves on the House Committee on Families, Children and Seniors.
Education
Rep. Fox received his Professional Degree; ABD (All But Dissertation) in Education Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. He also received his MA in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University, along with his Teaching Certificate in Psychology and Teaching about Religion. Fox received his Master of Divinity from Calvin Seminary, his BA in Philosophy/Religion and Psychology from Spring Arbor College, and his diploma from Columbia Central High School in Jackson County.
Community Involvement
Rep. Fox has been very involved in his community. He has taken on service and mission endeavors with various groups, churches, Right for Life, and Christian Schools. Fox has also served as a Pastor and Worship Leader with many different churches. He is a past member of Rotary International, and often worked with Meals on Wheels in Newaygo County.
Professional
Rep. Fox has been the Director of the Newaygo County Commission on Aging for 7 years, a Christian School Teacher and Principal for 25 years, and a Church Planter and Missionary for 7 years.
Personal
Rep. Fox has been married to his wife for over 40 years. They live in Fremont, and have four adult children, and 12 grandchildren. Rep. Fox is from Brooklyn, Michigan in Jackson County. He is ordained in, and a member of the Christian Reformed Church, and is currently attending Harvest Church in Fremont. Rep. Fox enjoys all things outdoors - birding, hiking, kayaking, biking, hunting, snowshoeing, and more. He loves to read and study God's word, and books that strive to make sense of culture and history. |
