Rep. Dave Prestin was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022. He represents the 108th District, which includes the Upper Peninsula counties of Delta, Menominee, Schoolcraft, Luce as well as parts of Chippewa, and Mackinac.

Rep. Prestin serves as a member on the following House committees- Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation; Energy, Communications and Technology; Local Government and Municipal Finance.

Rep. Presin studied at the following schools- Bay De Noc Community College, Waukesha County Technical College, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Professional
Prestin is a first responder for his community, continuing to serve as a volunteer paramedic and firefighter for the last 13 years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked as a hospital-based paramedic and as a substitute teacher to help fill critical staffing shortages in both fields. He is also a small-business owner who specialized in rehabilitating neglected properties, most recently Cedar River Plaza.
Public Office and Affiliations
Prestin served 4 years on the Menominee County Board of Commissioners. He also served 9 years on the Alger Delta Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, a distributive energy cooperative serving 10,000-plus members in the UP. The board drew upon his business experience and appointed him to serve as an interim manager, where he oversaw daily operations of the cooperative during a time of transition.
Prestin has also been involved with Mid County 114 Rescue Squad Board of Directors, the Stephenson Chapter of the Lions Club, and the Stephenson Eagles Booster Club.

Rep. Prestin has been married to his wife, Kathie, for 23 years. They live in Cedar River with their daughter, Mattie. |
