Shane Hudella is a lifelong resident of Hastings, MN, with a deep appreciation for the strengths of his community and the surrounding area. Shane graduated from Hastings High School in 1989 and attended the University of St. Thomas. He and his wife, Jessica, have four sons, Patton, Joey, Zach, and Cooper. The Family is very active in the hockey community.
In 1990, Shane left the University of St. Thomas to deploy to Operation Desert Storm as an active-duty member of the Minnesota Army National Guard. He served for 24 Years, retiring at the rank of First Sergeant.
While still on active duty, Shane founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping military families participate in hockey. Within a few years, he expanded the mission of the organization to help kids participate in many different sports. In the 13 years since it was founded, his nonprofit has helped over 100,000 kids, and has donated over $20 million in benefits to help military kids participate in the sports that they love.
A few years ago, Shane again looked around and saw a need. He was concerned veterans were passing away with their stories untold. In 2022, he and his team unveiled The Heroes Monument, a new memorial in Hastings dedicated to honoring veterans and preserving their stories of military service.
Now Shane is taking on a new challenge. He's deeply concerned about the direction we're headed as a nation. From attacks on free speech, to attempts to introduce critical race and transgender ideology into our schools, to soaring inflationary pressure on families - Shane is running to bring sanity back to the Capitol in St. Paul. |
