Senator Jennifer McEwen was first elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2021. She represents Senate District 7, which covers the community of Duluth.
McEwen grew up in Duluth, MN, and lives in the house that her great-grandparents built in the Morley Heights neighborhood along with her husband and two children. She is a proud supporter of education and health care as her mom was a nurse at St. Mary's and her dad was a teacher in the Duluth Public Schools.
McEwen has a background in law as an attorney for disabled workers, public defense, and legal aid. She also serves on the Damiano Center Board (past president), where she works with others to provide food security to struggling families.
Sen. McEwen currently serves on the Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Legacy Finance Committee, the Transportation Committee, and is the DFL lead on the Labor and Industry Committee. |
