Senator Erin Murphy was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2007, served for 6 terms, and was the Majority Leader, before coming to the Senate in 2021. She represents Senate District 64, which includes portions of the Saint Paul community.
Murphy is a registered nurse who grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She earned her M.A. in organizational leadership in health care at the University of St. Catherine in Saint Paul. Murphy also attended the Humphrey Institute at the U of M as a policy fellow. She currently lives in Saint Paul with her husband, Joe Faust, and has two children.
Sen. Murphy currently serves on the Redistricting Committee, Taxes and Property Taxes Committee, and is the DFL lead on the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee. |
