Representative LaDonna Appelbaum, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis County, including portions of Chesterfield, Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights, Olivette, Overland and a large portion of unincorporated St. Louis County (District 71), in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to her first two-year term in November 2018.
Prior to her legislative service, Appelbaum worked in orthopedic medical sales and eventually started her own company in 2002, which she ran for eight years.
She currently serves as a committee member for the St. Louis Metropolitan St. Patrick's Day Parade. She was a delegate for the 2012 Democratic National Convention and is active in the Maryland Heights Township Democratic Club. Appelbaum organized the first ever Welcome Home to Heroes Parade to honor those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Appelbaum won an American Legion Award of Merit in 2012 and was recognized in 1994 as Student Athlete Trainer of the Year.
A graduate of Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Appelbaum received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine from Tulsa University.
