Representative Phil Amato, a Republican, represents part of Jefferson County (District 113) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2022.
In addition to his legislative duties, Amato is retired from a 31-year career as a manufacturer's sales representative.
Amato is also the author of 20 books with the latest being a work of nonfiction about the history of Arnold, Missouri from 1972 to 2022. He donates the proceeds from this book to the Arnold Food Pantry, the Arnold Historical Museum, and to the Jefferson County Library.
A 1972 graduate of Jennings High School, Amato attended Fox School in Arnold for nine years. He received his associate's degree in Sales and Business from St. Louis Community College at Meramec in 1984.
Amato has received several awards and honors, including the William T. Kemper Foundation's Community Service Award, the Lt. Governor's Senior Service Award, the Arnold Man of the Year Award, and the Jaycee International Lifetime Achievement Award.
Born in St. Louis, Amato has lived most of his life in Arnold and currently resides there with his wife. He is a member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Arnold Jaycees organization. |
