Representative Bennie Cook, a Republican, represents Texas, Phelps, and Maries counties (District 143) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2020.
In addition to his legislative duties, Cook has maintained a commission with the Texas County Sheriff's Department dating back to 2005. He has a total of 19 years in law enforcement working for departments in Texas County, Columbia and Belle, Missouri. Rep. Cook has a strong history in social service as the director of the Texas County Food Pantry and as a field representative for Congressman Jason Smith. In each of these positions, Cook worked extensively with federal, state, and local agencies to assist his constituents.
Rep. Cook serves as a deacon of Oak Hill Christian Church, the president of the Houston Lions Club and a Board member for the Texas County Farm Bureau. Rep. Cook has also served as a Texas County 911 Board member, Texas County Emergency Management Director and on the Houston Parks and Recreation Board.
Rep. Cook has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration and an associate's degree in Human Services from Columbia College.
Rep. Bennie Cook resides on a small farm in Houston, Missouri with his wife, Dr. Amanda Cook PharmD. They are blessed with five children- Reaghan, Ben, Addison, Isabella, and William. |
