Jay Webber has been an assemblyman since 2008, and appropriations officer since January 2018.
A former college baseball star and academic all-American, he earned a bachelor's degree in international studies from Johns Hopkins University in 1994. He went on to get his law degree from Harvard Law School in 2000, and was clerk for state Supreme Court Justice Peter Verniero from 2000 to 2001. A labor attorney, he has a private firm in Whippany.
Webber was the chairman of the N.J. State Republican Committee from 2009 to 2011, where he led the party to its first statewide victory in 12 years. He is also the founder and host of New Jersey Reagan Day, an annual tribute to the life and leadership of President Ronald Reagan.
He and his wife Johanna have seven children and live in Morris Plains. |
