Bio

Daniele was born in Tucson, Arizona and moved to Nevada 23 years ago. She has lived in District 1 almost the entire time she has lived in Nevada. Ms. Monroe-Moreno and her family attend Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas, NV. She has three beautiful and accomplished daughters Candace, Cassandra and Celena and three adorable grandchildren and various grand pets. Her hobbies include spoiling her grandchildren, volunteering, cooking, entertaining and event planning. Assemblywoman Monroe-Moreno represents District 1 in the Nevada State Legislature. She was elected in 2016, and served on the Government Affairs, Legislative Operations and Elections, and Transportation committees in the 79th Legislative session. Assemblywoman Monroe-Moreno is a retired Corrections Officer with the North Las Vegas Police Department. Before moving to Nevada, she was an Officer with the Maricopa County Sheriff's office. She has served as a working board member with numerous community organizations including the North Las Vegas Steering Committee, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Nevada Youth Alliance, "The Pointe" After School Youth Mentoring Program, Commissioner on the Clark County School District's Attendance and Zoning Advisory Commission, as Lt. Governor of Optimist International-Pacific Southeast District, and a member of the North Las Vegas Justice Court's Community Courts program. During her career in law enforcement she was a member of the North Las Vegas Police Officer's Association, the Black Police Officers Association of Nevada and the Southern Nevada National Latino Police Officers Association. In 2009, she graduated from Emerge Nevada, and is currently a member of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators, Women in Government, the Women Legislator's Lobby and a CSG's Western Legislative Academy graduate. In her retirement she is working with other community organizers to mentor and inspire young people in her community-Nurturing the Pipeline of Nevada's Future.
