Senator Rice F. Rice (b. May 9, 1957) was elected to the South Carolina Senate in 2016. He formerly served as a member of the SC House of Representatives from 1994-2010. Rex is committed to ethical decision making and reformed state spending, protecting the South Carolina and United States constitutions, defending both Christian and Conservative values, and representing the needs of Pickens County in Columbia. Rex has known small business since he was young. He began working for his father's construction company in the 1970's, where he eventually became a partner. In 1996, he began his own company as a general contractor. Over the years, Rex learned the importance of hard work and commitment. He understands the effects of government on small businesses and their owners.
For over 37 years, Rex and his wife Ruth have called Pickens County home. After getting married in 1982, the newlyweds moved to Easley where they had a farm and began a family. They have two daughters Toni and Meredith. Both daughters attended Pickens County public schools and graduated from local colleges.
Rex and Ruth are members of Easley Presbyterian Church. He is also a member of Pickens County Cattleman's Association. |
