| Jesse Chism is a State Representative out of Memphis, TN. He represents house district 85 in the 111th general assembly. Jesse is a native Tennessean and worked in nonprofits as well as education as a class room teacher. He is currently a real estate investor who rehabs houses and provides affordable housing to families in need. Rep. Chism received a B.S. in Business Administration from Morehouse College with a focus in Marketing /Economics. Jesse developed a strong sense of devotion for education and service to others from watching his mother, who was an educator for many years and his father, who was a businessman in the community in which he has lived in for over four decades. Since being elected into office of state representative, Jesse has been appointed as parliamentarian of the Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legislators, and has also been elected as Chairman of the Freshman Democrats. This experience and training have given Representative Jesse Chism a deep appreciation for public service and a heart to help others. He lives by his family motto- "Service Above Self". |
