I was born in Mt Pleasant, Utah and raised in Manti. I am the youngest of three children born to Dale and Janet Lund. I graduated from Manti High School, served in the 2nd of the 222 Field Artillery Unit of the Utah National Guard and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I married Melissa Peterson from Mayfield. We earned a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. We have lived in Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Utah. We have three married children and five grandchildren.
I am deeply concerned about the direction our Country is going. I wonder how many people understand the greatness of the United States of America. I worked in South Africa for a few months. While there I became acquainted with one of the founders of the New South African Government, under President Mandela. This gentleman said "Steve, you live in the greatest country ever in the history of the world. That is why we used the Constitution of the United States of America as a pattern for our own. We hope we are going in the right direction".
I have a great love for the United States of America. I believe we owe it to our posterity to make sure THE GREATEST COUNTRY EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD, is always a land of liberty and justice, is always a place of opportunity and always a place where God comes before country. |
