| About Shae
After graduation Shae stayed involved, working on several political campaigns, and later as a legislative staffer in the State Capitol. When the Act 10 chaos hit, Shae was proud to stand with Chad Weininger, Andre Jacque, and Governor Walker against the protestors that stormed the building, getting the job done for the hard-working taxpayers of Wisconsin.
After his stint in Madison, Shae moved back to the district and became Supervisor of the Gibson Town Board. During this time, Shae also served nine years in the US Army Reserve Chemical Corps, achieving the rank of SGT before his honorable discharge in early 2018.
Shae was first elected to the Assembly in 2018 and has been fighting for the district ever since. From fighting for environmentally friendly and economic dredging laws for Two Rivers to fighting to add the De Pere Southern Bridge, Shae is proud to represent the people of 2nd Assembly District.
Shae Sortwell got his start in politics while attending UW-Green Bay. He was a member of the College Republicans and Student Government, while also founding the Pro-Life organization which is still active today.
Today, Shae drives trucks once a week to help with the supply chain, and to help put food on the table for his kids. In his free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.
Shae has been happily married to his wife, Krista, for 15 years. Together with their six children they live west of Mishicot. |
