| Mary Felzkowski, formerly Mary Czaja, was first elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2012, where she served four two-year terms, including two sessions on the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee, and one session as the Assistant Majority Leader.
In 2020, the fine people of Wisconsin's 12th Senate District elected her to be their voice in the State Senate, where her four-year term encompassed two two-year sessions. During both of these sessions, Mary again served as a member on the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee.
A lifelong resident of Lincoln County, Mary is the owner of C.I.S. Insurance Group in Tomahawk. She is a graduate of Tomahawk High School and the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. Mary has two children, three step-children, and four grandchildren.
Mary comes from a family of independent business owners. Her father, Edward Behling, owned and operated Tomahawk Tree Farm and Behling Insurance. Mary's grandmother, Dolly Roberts, and mother, June Behling, operated the Bowling Alley Grill and founded June's Delicatessen in the Nokomis area. Her uncles, Richard and Gerald Roberts, founded Roberts Berry Farm, which is still in the family.
In her free time, Mary enjoys motorcycling, boating, and snowmobiling with her husband, Fries. Most importantly, she loves spending time in the great outdoors with family and friends.
During Mary's time representing northern Wisconsin, she's gotten results - under both Republican and Democrat governors. Her passion for the 12th Senate District can be attributed to something we all share in common- pride for where she was born and raised, and hope for our kids and grandkids.
Mary's tenacity and determination in Madison has made her an influential member of the Legislature which, in turn, she uses to ensure northern Wisconsin gets our fair share. |
