I was born in Wyoming, and while I've lived in many places, Cheyenne has always been my home.
I'm proud to have served our nation and state in the 153rd Airlift Squadron. I have worked as an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad for the last 12 years and I'm a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen.
While I'm proud that our state is ranked #1 for small business by the Tax Foundation, I'm concerned
that Wyoming leads the nation in workplace fatalities. The legislature needs to work with employers and
the Governor to find solutions that keep Wyoming's economy strong and our workers safe.
I'm very concerned that declining mineral royalties have resulted in significant cuts to the state
budget. These cuts threaten essential services, the financial stability of state employees and their families, and the economic growth of our communities. The legislature needs to focus on diversifying our state economy and stabilizing the budget. Relying on one industry to fund the majority of state operations is irresponsible, and unsustainable. Investment in technology and infrastructure is essential to make Wyoming business-ready and bring high-paying jobs to the state. This issue will be my number one focus in the legislature.
As the father of three beautiful daughters, I know our families are our future. World class schools
and quality education for every child must remain a top priority for our state. |
