David Standridge was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in a special election in 2012. He was re-elected in 2014 without opposition. Representative Standridge was elected by his colleagues as Chairman of the House Rural Caucus in 2014.
Representative Standridge grew up on a Blount County Farm and graduated from Hayden High School. He holds a degree from Wallace State College, a BS degree from Athens State University, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Representative Standridge served as a law enforcement official for 21 years where he excelled to the rank of Captain. He was elected and served on the Blount County Board of Education and as Blount County's Commission Chairman and Probate Judge. During his term as Chairman, the Commission paid off the county's entire long-term debt. In 2012, he retired as Probate Judge.
Representative Standridge is married to his high school sweetheart, Danna, who is a retired teacher and was elected as President of the Alabama Legislative Club in 2016. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. The Standridge's are members of Hayden First Baptist Church. |
