Why I'm Running
Hello, my name is Dr. Melissa Oropeza and I am running for House Representative District 37.
I was born and raised in Wyandotte County. I am a fourth-generation Dotte. I attended Turner High School. I graduated with an associate degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College, attended the University of Kansas School of Nursing where I graduated with a bachelor's degree, and after much diligence and hard work, I earned a Master's Degree in Nursing. In 2020, I graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with my Doctor of Nursing Practice to conclude my educational career.
I am an experienced 23-year healthcare professional and for the last 11 years, I have practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in a Gastroenterology Practice located in Wyandotte County. Throughout my professional career, I have had the ability to engage leadership and apply innovative ideas which were critical in establishing recognition for women and furthering advanced practice providers. I was nationally recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as the Nursing Advocate for Kansas in 2017 along with 49 of my fellow colleagues across the United States.
As a healthcare provider, I consistently go above and beyond to help the patients within my practice. I am asking for the opportunity to do the exact same for District 37.
I am confident that I can be a reliable and committed advocate for our 37th District and the people who live in it.
I am asking for your vote and support on November 8, 2022. |
