Rep. Gina Johnsen was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022.
She represents the 78th District, which covers the townships of Lowell and Bowne, and the cities of Lowell and Alto in Kent County; the townships of Ronald, Keene, Easton, Ionia, Boston, Berlin, Orange, Portland, Campbell, Odessa, Sebewa and Danby, and the cities of Ionia, Saranac, Portland, Clarksville and Lake Odessa in Ionia County; the townships of Carlton, Woodland, Hastings, Castleton, Baltimore and Maple Grove, and the cities of Woodland, Hastings and Nashville in Barry County; and the townships of Sunfield, Roxand and Kalamo, and the cities of Sunfield and Mulliken in Eaton County.
Education
Johnsen holds a bachelor's degree in economics and international studies from Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA.
Professional and personal background
Gina was the director of the Michigan House of Prayer for 12 years. She is an Insurance Agent for Swan Retirement Partners and spent 17 years of her career with Otsuka Pharmaceuticals as a program manager.
She is the director of Michigan Pray, on the board of House of Promise, and executive director of Pregnancy Center of Eaton County. She also volunteers for Protect Life Mi and human trafficking awareness organization, Sak Saum. |
