Mike grew up in our area and has dedicated his life to public service and his community. His parents moved to Golden Valley when he was six weeks old, and they still live in the house he grew up in.
In 2007, Mike and Lauren were married.
In 2009, Mike and Lauren had their first child, Rose. Their son Joseph was born in 2012. Because of his kids, Mike has a passion for public education - particularly in the Robbinsdale School District, where they live.
Mike was elected to the Golden Valley City Council in 2003 and reelected twice. In his role as Council Member, he helped the city achieve a triple-A bond rating, helped create a domestic partnership registry, and a strong smoke-free ordinance.
In his day job, Mike works as an attorney for a nonprofit organization committed to improving public health. He has also worked as an Adjunct Law Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, teaching courses in Legislation and Public Health Law. In the past, he worked as a legislative aide for a member of Congress, specializing in education and health care. |
