Elected in November 2022, Senator Jill Carter took the oath of office and was sworn in on Jan. 4, 2023, to serve the 32nd Senatorial District and represent the citizens of Jasper and Newton counties. She has been a resident of southwest Missouri for 36 years. Senator Carter married her high school sweetheart, and together they have five amazing kids and one granddaughter. She is a graduate of East Newton High School and Crowder College. Before becoming a senator, she went to the Capitol for more than a decade, on her own dime, working on policy and legislation. She began with education and soon found herself focusing on other issues that would help ensure government worked for the people. Senator Carter is passionate about her country and the people in her community. |
