Heather Rhyne is originally from Cherryville, NC and has lived in Lincoln County for more than 20 years. Heather has been married to Lincoln County native Chris Rhyne for 27 years and has two daughters. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill where she earned her pharmacy degree and has been practicing as a licensed, retail pharmacist since graduating in 1998.
Heather has been very involved with parents and families in Lincoln County by serving on the local Board of Education for 8 years before receiving her appointment to the NC House of Representatives. Heather served as Chairwoman of the Board of Education for 3 years and has been instrumental in advocating for quality education in Lincoln County. Heather's time on the Board has allowed her to develop complicated budgets, provide leadership across party lines, and create and maintain strong relationships in the community.
Heather's time in the pharmacy has allowed her to cultivate her passion for helping others. She became interested in the field of pharmacy because of her heart for those experiencing health challenges. This field has also provided opportunities to work with budgets as well as inventory management, human resources, and people from all walks of life.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys reading as well as volunteering at concessions at her youngest daughter's high school. Spending time with her husband and daughters is where you will find her relaxing during down time. Heather is also an active member of her church, where she teaches a Couples Sunday School class and leads marriage retreats. Her Christian, conservative values are at the heart of her decision making.
Serving Lincoln County and the state of North Carolina is an honor, and Heather is extremely thankful for the relationships she has been able to build in her community and across this great state. |
