Bio

Monique won't sit quietly, while the after-effects of the pandemic push us out of our apartments and homes. She won't sit quietly while our kids are being shot in our streets. And she won't sit quietly while our schools are denied the resources our teachers need to teach so that all our children can succeed. As an activist and organizer, Monique has never sat quietly when it comes to our community. Whether it's fighting for round-the-clock child care to help parents working two or more jobs or working to reduce gun violence, she's come up with ideas and worked with local leaders to make them happen. The daughter of immigrants from the Caribbean, Monique is a lifelong resident of the 58th Assembly District, and mother of four. Monique's record of activism spans almost two decades. Early on, she was the driving force behind multiple block associations. She went on to launch a non-profit, to provide a broad range of youth services to help kids and parents. With an unmatched record of service, Monique is ready to represent you in Albany.
