Five named to state�s higher education panel

The S.C. Commission on Higher Education has appointed five new members. The commission is responsible for promoting quality and efficiency in the state system of higher education.

The new commissioners are:

� Retired Army Col. John T. Bowden Jr., of Orangeburg, who is also an S.C. State University trustee

� Danny M. Holcombe, of Moore

� Louis B. Lynn, of Columbia, who is also a Clemson University trustee

� Hood Temple, of Florence

� Attorney Ken Wingate Jr., of Columbia
