Ira Cline wore many hats during his 84 years: husband to Ann, father of four, fifth-generation farmer and church leader. Cline died Monday. For 31 years, he was best known for the strawberries his family farm produced. It was a popular “you-pick” operation. In 1999, he won the North Carolina Strawberry Association Grower of the Year award. In 2009, the farm transitioned from strawberries to growing and selling blueberries, both you-pick and ready-picked. For more of this story, click here.
