The U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Poultry & Eggs (US-RSPE) has named its inaugural board of directors and leadership team drawn from a wide range of poultry and egg stakeholders. US-RSPE ¬– which maintains the sustainability initiative for the U.S. poultry and egg value chain – says the new board represents growers, integrators, processors, breeders, brands, retailers, foodservice, technology providers and animal welfare and environmental organizations.
Leigh Ann Johnston, director of sustainability at Tyson Foods Inc., will serve as chair for the 2019-2020 term, while Lankford Ruffin, corporate environmental manager at Butterball, will serve as vice chair, the organization announced in a news release.
The new board includes 12 additional executives from such companies as McDonald’s USA, Deerfield Farms, JBS USA, Walmart, Aviagen Group and Cal-Maine Foods, among other environmental and sustainability organizations.
