After supporting a safe return to in-person classes for one week, officials with the Madison County Health Department are planning for the possible release of a coronavirus vaccine as early as this coming fall. Madison County Health Director Tammy Cody confirmed Aug. 21 that health directors across the state are preparing for a vaccine that would be available to “priority groups” in the coming months. “We are making plans for both COVID and flu vaccinations,” she said by phone.
