The census will end in less than three weeks, and an estimated million-plus people in North Carolina haven't been counted yet. With the coronavirus pandemic slowing door-to-door operations, the Census Bureau initially extended its deadline until the end of October. But the agency backtracked on that extension last month, moving the deadline back to Sept. 30.
