It’s with sorrow that we, Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T,
announce the death of our colleague Kurt Taylor, a 4-H agriscience Extension
associate. Kurt was a valuable member of our staff and his presence, including
his wide smile, will be missed.Services for Kurt, who passed after a short illness, will be
held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Fellowship of His Glory Ministries,
Inc., 7010 Spencer Dixon Rd., Greensboro. A public viewing will be held from
Noon until 1 p.m. at the church, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn
Cemetery. His celebration of life will be livestreamed and will be posted on
the obituary page at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home
Kurt joined Cooperative Extension at A&T initially as a horticulture associate after completing his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He was passionate about his work with the state’s small farmers and with young people. He was eager to share hydroponics with both groups. He was instrumental in using high tunnels to help residents in one of Greensboro’s food deserts. Kurt loved agriculture, he loved teaching, and he loved working with young people. His work with a group of 4-H’ers from Bertie County won the group a national award that will be presented later this year. Kurt’s death is a tremendous loss to our Extension family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Daphne, their three children, and other family and friends. #AggiePride #NCATExtension
