This morning the Senate passed its first piece of legislation, SB 33, the Virtual School Bill.Chairman of the Senate Education & Youth Committee, Senator Dan Moody, offered an amendment supported by many Republicans and Democrats, which gives public school students priority over home and private schooled students when enrolling in virtual classes.The bill passed as amended and now moves to the House for consideration.

This evening, PAGE President, Dr. Diane Ray and PAGE Lobbyist, Margaret Price, attended the community conversation hosted by Governor Perdue�s Task Force on Education Funding.The Task Force will review the comments of Dr. Ray and other education advocates as it evaluates the status of Georgia�s education funding system.� For more information on the forum and the task force, please visit the Task Force�s website at www.ie2.org.
