BioSenator Dylan Roberts was elected to the Senate in 2022 to serve Colorado's Eighth Senate District, which includes the rural and mountain communities in Clear Creek, Eagle, Garfield, Gilpin, Grand, Jackson, Moffat, Rio Blanco, Routt, and Summit counties. In the Senate, he serves as Chair of the Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee and Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee.
Dylan is a third generation Coloradan, who grew up in Routt County. As a college student, Dylan was inspired to become involved in local politics and took a semester off to work as a community organizer in Northwest Colorado for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. As an organizer, he saw the value in working to improve one's community and knew he wanted to dedicate his career to public service. In the years after, Dylan worked for President Obama's reelection campaign and for Congressman Ed Perlmutter.
After earning a law degree from the University of Colorado, Dylan became a Deputy District Attorney for Eagle County where he pursued justice for victims of crime and worked to keep his community safe.
In 2018, Dylan was elected to be the State Representative for Eagle and Routt Counties in the Colorado House of Representatives. During the 2019 and 2020 legislative sessions, he served as Chair of the House Rural Affairs and Agriculture Committee, and in 2021, began service as the Chair of the House Business Affairs and Labor Committee, as well as a member of the Agriculture and Water Committee and the Judiciary Committee.
Throughout his legislative career, Dylan has been the prime sponsor of 139 bills that have passed and become law, 99 percent of which received bipartisan support. He has championed legislation to lower health care costs, invest historic pandemic relief funding into affordable housing development, cap the costs of prescription drugs, protect our water, promote small businesses in rural Colorado, and make life easier for hardworking families in our mountain communities.
Everyday, Dylan prioritizes working with Republicans and Democrats to support small businesses and workers across Colorado, lower the cost of living, protect our environment, and stand up for our rural and mountain communities.
Dylan lives in Frisco with his wife Sarah and his son Teddy.
