Bio

Senator Kyle Mullica was elected to the Senate in 2022 to continue representing Adams County after serving in the Colorado House of Representatives. He currently serves as Chair of the Finance Committee and as a member of the Health & Human Services Committee. Born and raised in Thornton, Kyle's story is one of hard work, perseverance, and success. As an only child to a single mother, he worked two jobs to help make ends meet, and even though his mother worked hard, it was never enough to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. By the time he was eight, they were living out of their car. Kyle knows what it's like to not know where your next meal is going to come from. His experiences growing up have inspired him to ensure that other families in Colorado do not have to endure the same struggles that his family did. He graduated from the University of Denver in 2008 with a degree in Real Estate/Finance, and then entered the nonprofit industry to help individuals experiencing homelessness. While working with vulnerable populations, he discovered his passion for medicine and helping people in their most difficult times, which led him to pursue his nursing degree. While serving at the Capitol, Kyle also works shifts in an emergency department collaborating with his medical team to save lives.

Kyle is committed to ensuring that every family has a stable and safe community to grow up in and opportunities to thrive, which is why he served on the Northglenn City Council. Throughout his tenure, he worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life in Northglenn, initiating legislation to keep our families safe, working hard to keep our leaders accountable, and championing efforts to support working class families.

As an elected official, Kyle is committed to ensuring that every member of his community is able to enjoy a healthy life and to achieve their American dream. Among many accomplishments, he has championed legislation to- address the youth vaping epidemic, strengthen workers' rights, and protect our children from preventable diseases. Kyle will continue fighting for Colorado's working families, our children's education and a just economy.

Kyle lives with his wife Julie and three kids in Thornton, just a few miles from where he grew up.
