Bio

Kimberly Rainwater New was born in Douglas County and is the seventh generation of her family to reside here. Her great-grandfather built the old courthouse in downtown Douglasville. Her grandfather was a Baptist preacher who helped build several churches in Georgia and served as pastor to over five churches in Douglas County, and her father was a successful business owner in Douglas County. Service to our community is in her blood.

As Past President of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) - Georgia State Council, Kim has helped raise funds for St Jude Children's Hospital, Easterseals, Wounded Soldiers, Hope for Heroes, Georgia State Parks, Literacy, Battered Women and Children Shelters and local charities like the High School Pantries and Operation Christmas. Due to her efforts she was awarded the Georgia State Council of ESA - Woman of the Year.

Kim and Billy are the parents of four children and six grandchildren. They are members of Ephesus Baptist Church in Winston, Georgia. Billy retired from law enforcement following more than 25 years of experience and currently serves as an appointee on the Georgia Public Safety Board. Kim is a proud graduate of Kennesaw State University. Kim, and her husband Billy, have operated their business in Douglas County for over 20 years. They understand firsthand how needless red tape and regulations can burden small business owners. She is a past President and Board Member of the Georgia Independent Automobile Dealers Association, which is the largest state based independent dealers' association currently with over 2,800 members.
