Bio

State Representative Segun Adeyina was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in November 2022. He represents the citizens of District 110, which includes portions of Gwinnett County.

Before serving in the state legislature, Segun was a representative for the Gwinnett County Tree Advisory Committee. An active executive member of the Gwinnett County Democratic Party, Rep. Adeyina was previously a 2020 Democratic candidate for District 1 of the Gwinnett County School Board. He is currently the executive director of the Nigerian American Public Advisory Committee U.S.A., where he works to promote voter education and registration in immigrant communities. Additionally, he played a key role in the recent 2021 U.S. presidential election and U.S. Senate elections in Georgia through his involvement in One Voice Africa. He is a member of the Gwinnett NAACP, Global African Business Association and served on the boards of several community and business organizations, including the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Americas and African World Expo.

He has won several awards and received recognition for his volunteer and philanthropic efforts.

Most recently, Segun received the United States Presidents Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022 and the Sirius Rising Start Award from the Georgia Plastic Foundation. He has also been recognized by 100 Black Men for serving as a mentor for seven years with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He received the 2019 Mothers on a Mission-12th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Drum Major Award, as well as the 2019 Global Black History Honors Honoree for leadership in the community.

For more than 25 years, he has worked in IT program and project management for Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries, including General Motors, Ascension Health System and Hewlett Packard/ Cap Gemini. Segun is married to Kofo and has three children.
