BioSenator Rick Williams was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2022. He was elected to serve Georgia's 25th Senate District, which includes Baldwin, Butts, Jones, Jasper, and Putnam Counties including portions of Bibb, and Henry Counties. Previously, Sen. Williams served in the Georgia House of Representatives representing House District 145, which includes Baldwin County and portions of Putnam County. During his term, he served on the House Committees on Appropriations, Governmental Affairs, Higher Education, Intragovernmental Coordination, Public Safety and Homeland Security, Regulated Industries, and a Special Committee on Election Integrity. Sen. Williams currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Retirement, Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Secretary of the Senate Committee on Public Safety, and a voting member of the Senate Committees on Higher Education and State and Local Governmental Operations. A Jackson, GA native, Sen. Williams graduated from Baldwin County High School in 1970. He decided to follow in his father's footsteps and pursue a career in the funeral services industry. Sen. Williams now co-owns multiple funeral service businesses, including Williams Funeral Homes of Milledgeville, Williams Crematory of Milledgeville, Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery, etc. Sen. Williams has also previously served on the Baldwin County Commission. He served the people of Baldwin County after being appointed Chief Registrar for 16 years, maintaining his position until 2016 when he was elected to the House of Representatives. Sen. Williams is very active within his local community. He is a member of First United Methodist Church of Milledgeville, the Milledgeville Kiwanis Club, Benevolent Lodge #3 F&AM, Al Shiah Shrine and is also a member of numerous mortuary organizations. Sen. Williams is the husband of Donna Williams. They are the parents of three children- Spencer, Cameron, and Amber. They are also the proud grandparents of their seven grandchildren.
