BioRep. Ann Bollin was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2019. She represents the 49th House District, which spans portions of Livingston and western Oakland counties. It includes the cities of Brighton, Walled Lake, Wixom and a portion of Novi, as well as Brighton Township, Green Oak Township, and portions of Commerce and Lyon townships.
Committees
Ann serves on the influential House Appropriations Committee, which handles the state budget. She also serves as the Republican vice chair on the General Government Appropriations subcommittee and is also a member on the Department of Health and Human Services and Corrections subcommittees.
In 2021-22, Ann served as chair of the House Elections and Ethics Committee and as a member of the House Appropriations Committee. For Appropriations, she was vice chair of the general government budget subcommittee and a member of the Health and Human Services and Joint Capital Outlay subcommittees.
Public Office and Professional Affiliations
Prior to her election to the House, Ann was the Brighton Township Clerk from 2003-2018 and was the longest serving clerk. Known for being a strong community leader, she also served on the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Michigan Townships Association Board of Directors (District 25 Director), Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks Legislative Committee and Council of Election Officials (Township Alternate), Livingston County Municipal Clerks Association as Treasurer and the Livingston Community Water Authority. She has also sat on boards for Council of State Governments, National Conference of State Legislatures, and Livingston County Catholic Charities. In 2018, she was enrolled in the Brighton Area Women's History Roll of Honor.
She attended Central Michigan University and studied Recreation Therapy and was a Taubman Fellow at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program. She is also a MPLP (Michigan Political Leadership Program) alumni.
Personal
Ann and her husband, Tim, live in Brighton Township and are associate members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at their church. They have three adult children.
