BioRep. Pat Outman represents residents throughout most of Montcalm County and the Kent County townships of Solon, Cedar Springs, Nelson, Spence, and Oakfield, as well as the city of Belding and Otisco and Orleans townships in Ionia County.
Education
Pat is a proud Wildcat as a graduate of Lakeview High School, where he wrestled, golfed and played football.
He earned his bachelor's degree at Ferris State University in Business Administration and Legal Studies.
Professional and Public Office Affiliations
While pursuing his degree, Pat was the lead carpenter for Railing Carpentry, specializing in residential home and agricultural construction, and followed in his father's footsteps working in excavating. He continued following in his footsteps when he was elected state representative of Montcalm County, a position previously filled by his father, now-Senator Rick Outman.
Before being elected to the Michigan House, Pat worked in the State House, first in the House Committee Clerk's Office and later as the district liaison for Montcalm County. He also formerly served as chairman of the Montcalm County Republican Party.
Pat also serves on the board of the Montcalm County Farm Bureau and is a proud member of the NRA.
Committee Assignments
Pat serves as the Republican vice chair on the House Transportation, Mobility, and Infrastructure committee. He also serves as a member on the Energy, Communications and Technology, Judiciary, and Tax Policy committees.
Last term he served as vice chair of the House Oversight Committee and as a member of the Energy, Regulatory Reform, and Tax Policy committees.
Personal
Pat lives in Six Lakes with his wife, Autumn, and son, Miles, on the family farm. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends in the community that he will always be proud to call home. He is a hunting and fishing enthusiast and attends Lakeview Baptist Church.
