Bio

State Rep. Gregory Alexander was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022. He will serve the 98th House District, which includes residents in portions of Lapeer, Sanilac and Tuscola counties, as well as all of Huron County.

Greg serves as the Republican vice chair on the Joint Capital Outlay Appropriations Subcommittee. He also serves as a member of the House Agriculture and Rural Development and Natural Resources Appropriations subcommittee and the Labor, Economic Development, and Lifelong Learning Appropriations subcommittee.

Greg graduated from Carsonville - Port Sanilac High School and earned certificates of completion from Hillsdale College.

Greg has worked in small business, retail, building and infrastructure for 36 years. He owns and operates a Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program-verified apple orchard - and takes the understanding of the immense role agriculture plays in Michigan with him to Lansing.

Greg was overwhelmingly elected to serve as Sanilac County's Drain Commissioner in 2008. In the role, he addressed issues related to drain maintenance, water mains and sewers while utilizing modern technology to fine-tune effectiveness for the county and its taxpayers.

Greg has also served in other roles within the county, including as Utility and Community Development Director for the city of Croswell, Chair of the Board of Public Works, and a member of the Landfill and Recycling Board.

Greg lives in Carsonville and has been married to his wife, Patty, for 31 years. They have three children. Greg serves on the Holy Family Parish Catholic Church council and is an Endowment Life Member with the National Rifle Association.
