BioSen. Kevin Daley is a fifth-generation Lapeer County farmer, a lifetime resident of the district, and the state senator for 26th District, which encompasses portions of Lapeer, Tuscola, Genesee and Saginaw counties.
PUBLIC SERVICE
Daley began his career in public service as a member of the Arcadia Township planning commission. He went on to serve in the positions of trustee, treasurer, and eventually, township supervisor.
He was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2008 and represented Lapeer County in the 82nd District until 2014. As the only active farmer in the House of Representatives at the time, Daley was chosen to serve as chairman of the House Agriculture Committee.
In 2018 he was elected to represent the 31st state Senate District, which included Bay, Lapeer, and Tuscola Counties. There, Daley was once again chosen to help improve Michigan's agricultural industry, being selected as chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
Sen. Daley is committed to helping create a healthy economy, investing in skilled trades training, and protecting our hometown family values.
COMMUNITY
The senator is very active in the community and a member of several volunteer organizations. His membership includes the National Rifle Association, Right to Life of Michigan, Sunrise Lapeer Kiwanis Club, Lapeer County Farm Bureau, among others. He has served on the Lapeer County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Lapeer County Agricultural Preservation Board, and is the former president of the Tri-County Michigan Milk Producers Association. Daley is also active in Habitat for Humanity for Lapeer and Tuscola counties.
FAMILY
Daley lives in Lapeer County with his wife Debbie, a retired elementary school teacher. The two of them met in church during their school years and have been married for nearly 50 years. Together they have three children and eight grandchildren who they love to spend time with as much as possible.
