Bio

Hi I am Nolan West. First, I am a giant nerd. I used to work for Geek Squad, I sold TVs at Costco and I built my first computer when I was 12. When I am not doing legislative work, I run my small Business Best in the West Media where I film and edit videos, like this one, for businesses, weddings, and whatever else needs filming. I absolutely love both my jobs. I've lived in Blaine my whole life.

Enough about my personal life, you are here to learn more about me as a politician. I abide by 3 key principles. Number one, keep my people informed. So much happens in government that people have no clue about unless they have thousands of dollars to hire a lobbyist. To that end, I have put out dozens of videos on social media explaining things from the governor's emergency powers to energy policy. I also strive to answer every email that comes into my office so please don't hesitate to reach out any time.

Second, I am honest about policy. So many politicians promise solutions to solve any number of problems, but the reality is everything is in trade offs. When I advocate or oppose a policy, I aim to always address both sides of the issue. The reason people hate politicians is because they tell half truths because they are afraid to offend or disagree with anyone. I refuse to do that. If we disagree. I will tell you why I believe differently, and I will still listen because no one knows everything and we all can learn more.

Lastly, I want to restore some respect to our politics. Our discourse today is devoid of respect and it is literally destroying our state and country. Watching the lunacy in congress infect our state legislature has been resoundingly depressing. I will always treat people with respect. Even if I completely disagree with them. Repairing the division in our country is the duty of every American and we all can do better with how we treat those we don't agree with.
