BioAssemblyman Cody Miller serves on the Monroe Township Board of Education and is the director of Foundation and Alumni Relations at Rowan College of South Jersey.
Before his election to the school board in 2021, Assemblyman Miller served on the Monroe Township Council for four years. He was the youngest Democratic council member elected in township history at age 23.
In his first term on the school board, Miller helped secure over $25 million for capital energy improvements through the state Energy Savings Improvement Program, resulting in significant school upgrades at no cost to taxpayers, and worked to facilitate the joint solar initiative between Monroe Township government, board of education, and the Monroe Municipal Utilities Authority, saving taxpayers millions of dollars over the next 30 years. He also helped initiate full-day pre-K and fought for funding to increase the number of families with access.
While on Monroe Township Council, Assemblyman Miller established numerous redevelopment and rehabilitation designation sites, spurring business and economic development. He also worked with the Mayor and Council to curb substance abuse and create the Market-to-Affordable Housing Program in Monroe Township.
Miller is a proud first-generation college graduate who worked through college and was raised by a single mom of four. He is enrolled in the Doctorate of Higher Education Leadership at Rowan University and is a volunteer firefighter with Williamstown Fire Company #1.
