BioState Representative Kristina Shelton is a Democrat who represents Wisconsin's 90th Assembly District, containing most of the City of Green Bay along the Fox River Valley. Elected in November of 2020, Rep. Shelton's legislative agenda has included authoring the Economic Justice Bill of Rights and the Healthy School Meals for All Act, coauthoring bills to advance voter education with youth populations and strengthen our universities and technical colleges, and has supported various bills in the efforts of workers rights, affordable healthcare, reproductive rights, and criminal justice reform.
As a former public educator, Green Bay Area School Board member, and a mother of two, Representative Shelton brings a voice to the State Legislature to protect and fund our state's public schools and higher education institutions.
Kristina's community contributions are wide-ranging. She has worked with community groups to raise money for local school backpack drives, monthly community conversations about equity, and annual outreach. Living the motto, "We all do better when empowered women empower women" she served as Northeast Regional Coordinator for the Women's March Wisconsin. Kristina was named as a 2019-2020 Current Young Professional "Future 15" recipient, an award that annually profiles young professionals who are growing and excelling in their fields. Most recently, she won the 2019 "Activist of the Year Award" from Citizen Action's Northeast Wisconsin Co-op.
Kristina has been married to her husband, Jon, for 16 years. Together, they have two kids attending the Green Bay Area Public School District.
