Bio

State Representative Chip Brown represents House District 105 which consists of the communities of Grand Bay, St. Elmo, Irvington, Theodore, Hollingers Island, Mon Louis Island, Dog River, Fowl River and Coden along with the Town of Dauphin Island and the City of Bayou La Batre.

Chip is a lifelong resident of South Alabama and lives on Hollingers Island, Alabama.

Chip is a business owner, Realtor and entrepreneur.

Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Chip joined the Alabama Army National Guard and served on active duty with the US Army and US Central Command at the Forward Command Headquarters during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also deployed twice as a Military Adviser based in Kabul, Afghanistan for the International Security Assistance Force and US Forces Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Chip was injured in training at Fort Sill, OK and is a disabled Veteran.

In the Legislature he serves as Chairman of the Committee on Ports, Waterways and Intermodal Transit, Insurance Committee, where he serves as a Sub Committee Chairman, Economic Development and Tourism Committee, and Mobile Local Legislation Committee. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the House Republican Caucus. Chip also works as a member of the Energy Council, Oil and Gas Study Committee, Veterans Mental Health Task Force, Advanced Air Mobility Task Force, Sexual Assault Task Force, Sportsman's Caucus, Rural Caucus, and Taiwan Caucus.

Chip is a former Chairman of the board for the Make A Wish Foundation of Alabama and for several years volunteered his time serving as a youth baseball, football, soccer and basketball coach. Chip and his wife Aimee have one son and they attend St. Philip Neri Parish in Fowl River, Alabama. He is a graduate of Troy State University, a Top Ten Graduate of The Defense Department Information School and he has a Master's Degree in Strategic Communication from National University.
