Bio

Representative Devan Seabaugh was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in a special election in July 2021. He serves the citizens of House District 34, which includes areas within the cities of Marietta and Kennesaw and portions of unincorporated west Cobb County. He is a member of the House Appropriations, Public Health, Creative Arts & Entertainment, Transportation and Code Revision committees. He also serves as the vice chairman of the House Industry and Labor Committee and vice chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health. Rep. Seabaugh is the vice president of administration with Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service, a private ambulance company providing 9-1-1 and critical care ambulance service to counties and hospitals throughout the greater Atlanta area. He is the son of a U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran who retired and worked as an engineer for Lockheed Martin Marietta for 35 years. He was raised in Marietta and received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton and his EMT/paramedic license at West Georgia Technical College. He worked as a paramedic on the streets of Atlanta for Grady EMS before moving back to Cobb County to help start Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service. He remains actively involved in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Wellstar Kennestone Regional Hospital, the North Georgia State Fair Association, the Earl Smith Strand Theater and the Cobb Travel and Tourism Sports Alliance. He is actively involved with the local Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs. He has been recognized by Kiwanis International as a George Hixson Fellow and he received the Henry Heinz and Kiwanis Community Service Awards. He is a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International. The Cobb Chamber of Commerce has honored Rep. Seabaugh as its Marietta Citizen of the Year. He is a recipient of the Mack Henderson Public Service Award and Chairman's Awards. The Vietnam Veterans Alliance has also awarded Rep. Seabaugh with the President's Award for his work assisting Vietnam Veterans in need. He and his wife, Beth, live in west Cobb County, have been married for more than 30 years and have five children and one grandson. He and his family are faithful members of First United Methodist Church in Marietta. He reads, plays golf, tennis and pickleball and enjoys time at the lake and the beach with his family
