Bio

Representative Bill Werkheiser is a 1982 Cum Laud graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Technology. Rep. Werkheiser represents the citizens of House District 157, which consists of Tattnall, Evans and Wayne counties. Rep. Werkheiser was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2014, and he currently serves as the chairman of House Industry & Labor Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations, Public Safety and Homeland Security, State Properties, Juvenile Justice and Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications committees. For more than 30 years, Rep. Werkheiser owned and operated printing companies until 2016. His real estate business has been serving residential and commercial customers for 15 years. Rep. Werkheiser has also served his local community through numerous organizations. He has held leadership positions at the following organizations- Glennville Chamber of Commerce, Tattnall Chamber of Commerce, Glennville Rotary Club, Glennville Merchants and Professionals Association, Reidsville Airport Authority, East Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board, Gideons and the Kairos Prison Ministry. Rep. Werkheiser and his wife, Kathy, live in Glennville and are members of the Glennville First Baptist Church. Kathy is a registered nurse working as a travel labor and delivery nurse. They have four children and eight grandchildren.
