Bio

Senator Larry Walker, III (R), was first elected to the Georgia Senate in 2015. Sen. Walker represents Senate District 20, serving the citizens of Bleckley, Dodge, Dooly, Houston, Laurens, Pulaski, Treutlen, and Wilcox Counties. Sen. Walker Serves as Senate Majority Caucus Secretary. Sen. Walker chairs the Senate Committee on Insurance and Labor and the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture and Natural Resources. He also serves as Secretary of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, as a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and on Rules, and as ex-officio on the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services and on Retirement. Senator Walker is active in the middle Georgia community serving on the board of numerous organizations, including the Methodist Home, the Museum of Aviation and Morris Bank and he is a longtime member and past president of the Perry Rotary Club. He is past Chairman of the Perry Downtown Development Authority and the Middle Georgia Technical College Board and past Vice-Chairman of the Houston County Development Authority. Sen. Walker currently serves on the Legislative Overview Committee for the Agricultural Exposition Authority and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. Senator Walker was born and raised in Perry, Georgia. After graduating from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, he worked as a staff accountant for The Coca-Cola Company and later for Walker Rhodes Tractor Company before founding Walker Insurance Agency in Perry. Senator Walker is a committed family man. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Adrienne, for 38 years. Together they have three sons- Ben, Cody and Wade and a grandson. Larry and Adrienne reside in Kathleen and are active members of the Perry United Methodist Church.
