Bio

Mr. Palmer grew up in the small town of Hackleburg in Northwest Alabama. He now lives in Hoover with his wife, Ann, and represents Alabama's 6th Congressional District. Mr. Palmer attended the University of Alabama and earned a B.S. in Operations Management. While at the University of Alabama he was a walk-on member of the football team under Coach Paul 'Bear' Bryant. After graduation, he worked with two major international engineering and construction companies, before involvement with Focus on the Family led him to start the Alabama Family Alliance which became the Alabama Policy Institute. Palmer served as President of the Alabama Policy Institute for 24 years. In 2014, he was elected to the 114th Congress. Mr. Palmer currently serves on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
