BioRepresentative John Simmons, a Republican, represents parts of Franklin County (District 109) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was first elected to his first two-year term in November 2018, where he served two successive terms before returning in November of 2024 for a third term.
Simmons built a successful private practice in chiropractic medicine in Washington, earning his degree from Logan University of Chiropractic in 1991. His background in healthcare, running a small business, involvement in Rotary Club of Washington, and New Haven and Washington Chambers, provides him with valuable insight into issues affecting his community.
With prior familiarity with the legislative process, Simmons is no stranger to advocacy and policy. Simmons himself sponsored the Photo ID Election Integrity Bill in 2022 and co-sponsored the Heartbeat Bill in 2019.
Simmons has received numerous accolades, including Legislator of the Year award from the Missouri Chiropractic Physicians Association (MCPA) in recognition of his contributions to his profession and community; and Legislator Champion Award from The Foundation for Government Accountability for his work with election law.
Simmons is married to his wife, Nanci, and together they have three children- Reagan, Madison, and Noah. They attend St. Gertrude Church in Krakow. Family is central to his life, and he is deeply committed to serving his constituents and improving the quality of life for all Missourians.
