When she was 21 years old her father and brothers were killed in a horrific plane crash, leaving only her and her mother. Going through their passing was one of the hardest times of her life. She wasn't sure if she would make it, but she was resilient. Eventually, she married Jim Mullins and had the privilege of staying home to raise her two sons, Cody and Jordan. She and Jim have been honored to pastor and manage Calvary Christian Center for the past 20 years. This has given them the opportunity to help meet the needs of people in Butler County.

Diane and her team have also initiated other humanitarian activities, such as founding one of the largest food pantries in the area and an after-school program at New Miami Elementary. At their after-school program, underprivileged children are provided with tutoring, mentoring, meals and activities.

In 2018 - 2019, Diane founded a non-profit organization called Deborah's Voice. She networked with people across the nation to gather in Washington, DC. By September of 2018, she had over 5,000 people rally in Washington to stand on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in opposition to the statements made in the 'Nasty' Women's March of 2017 who did not reflect the voices of those who stand for the traditional values that this nation was founded on.
